Restoration and Management

Not withstanding its voluntary nature and limited resources, F.W.A. has since it’s very start striven to undertake direct restoration and management of historic monuments and sites. In doing this it has sought to target areas of the national heritage that were either neglected or threatened such as rural, industrial and British military heritage.

By taking over examples of sites from these lesser known fields and periods, F.W.A. seeks not only to conserve important monuments that otherwise are  hopelessly condemned to disappear, but also to expose their importance and increase their appreciation, thus ensuring them a more secure future.

Through its own restoration projects, F.W.A. also seeks to promote good conservation practices. Hence, it takes great pains and places great emphasis on having these restored to the highest possible standards, in line with the recommended international practices and conventions.
