Gun Salute Honours WWI & WWII Lost at Sea During Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s Historic Visit

A full gun salute was fired from the Saluting Battery today 8th October 2024 AM at the end of a service commemorating those lost at sea in both World Wars. The salute was coordinate ship to shore by a representative of the Armed Forces of Malta. The service formed part of His Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's four day Royal visit to Malta marking the 60th anniversary from Malta's independence. In the early afternoon, HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh paid a visit to the Lascaris War Rooms and the new Operation Husky Museum.
