Latest Donation

FWA volunteer John Hili has donated to Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna one of his maternal grandfather's No. 2839 Acting Gunner G. Busutill's gunnery short short exercise book which he compiled during his gunnery course in 1912. Acting Gunner Busutill was a teacher who joined the Royal Malta Artillery becoming a Sergeant. The gunnery course consisted of a comprehensive introduction to all fields of gunnery and was necessary for one to progress in the service. The donated exercise book is divided in two parts: Part I about the use of Shifts, Sheer and Derricks to lift and move artillery pieces and Part II about Siege and Movable Armament. John has also donated his grandfather's Battery's Canteen Accounts Book. from 1934.
