Restoration Works to Commence on Saluting Battery Bastion Wall as Part of Major Renovation Project

Renovation of the much eroded stonework of the bastion wall at the rear of the Saluting Battery is currently set to start by Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna - the Malta Heritage Trust with the kind support of the Malta Tourism Authority. The works are being undertaken by an experienced private contractor under the guidance of conservation architect Edward Said. This work will mainly consist of general cleaning of the stone surfaces, repointing of the open joints and minimal stone changing where necessary.

This work forms part of a larger renovation effort currently at hand at the Saluting Battery involving the saluting guns, exhibits, interpretation and sign posting all set to be completed by the first quarter of 2026.
