Donation

UK national Peter Smith has very kindly donated to FWA a copy of his father's photograph Petty Officer William Smith taken in 1945 along with another photograph of one of the naval ships that he had served on, HMS Hurworth. P.O. Smith had taken part in some of the Malta convoys including Operation Pedestal. On his trip to Malta, Peter Smith had with him his father's wartime photograph album and another one about wartime subjects which he had compiled himself. The wartime one included a number of photographs taken in Malta. Both were made available to FWA to see. Mr Smith presented his father's photograph to Mario Farrugia, FWA's Founding Chairman at the Saluting Battery in Valletta in the presence of his grandson Reuben Comeford. The donated material is being added to FWA's archive on wartime Malta.
